Bihar is located in the eastern region of India, between latitudes 24°20'10"N and 27°31'15"N and longitudes 83°19'50"E and 88°17'40"E. The state is gifted with abundant fertile land and water resources with total geographical area of 94,163 sq. km, out of which 97.9 % area is rural.
Bihar's agricultural landscape is indeed diverse and productive, thanks to its location in the fertile Ganga basin. The cultivation of rice, particularly varieties like autumn rice, aghani rice, and summer rice, is widespread across all districts of Bihar, reflecting the state's importance in rice production.
Additionally, Bihar's agricultural output extends beyond rice to include a variety of cereals and pulses such as wheat, maize, arhar, urad, moong, gram, pea, and lentils, contributing to the state's agricultural richness and food security.

Chhattisgarh State 

Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh, located in central India, offers a complex agricultural environment due to the variety of soil types and climatic conditions. Over 70% of the state's population works in agriculture. It is commonly referred to as the "Rice Bowl of Central India" due to its large rice production. It is one of the top rice-producing states in India. Rice is the state's staple crop, accounting for more than 70% of the cultivated area.
Besides rice, other important crops cultivated in Chhattisgarh include cereals like maize, kodo-kutki, pulses (like tur, kulthi urad, and moong), oilseeds (such as niger, sunflower soybean and groundnut). Wheat is grown as a rabi crop on about 20% of the cultivated area. Millets, pulses, and oilseeds are also important crops, but are grown on smaller areas.
Overall, agriculture is an important sector of the Chhattisgarh economy, contributing significantly to the state's GDP and providing employment for a big portion of the people, particularly in rural areas.

Jharkhand State

Jharkhand

Jharkhand (‘the land of forests’) is a state in Central India which lies between 21º59’N to 25º18’N latitude and 82º52’E to 87º54’E longitude, is a land–locked state with a tropical climate. Out of the total geographical area 96.9 % area is rural. Jharkhand's agriculture is primarily dependent on the monsoon. Up to 92% of the state's farmed area is left unirrigated due to the state's undulating hilly terrain and soil structure, which make canal-based irrigation systems unfeasible.
The state receives 80-82% of the annual rainfall during monsoon hence majority of state’s agriculture production is confined to kharif season (June-September). 40% of the area in the state is under mono crop. Nearly 70% of the area during kharif is under paddy. Most of this area remains fallow during the rabi season.

West Bengal State 

West Bengal

West Bengal is located in the eastern region of India, between latitudes 21°25'N and 27°13'N and longitudes 85°50'E and 89°50'E. West Bengal is endowed with abundant fertile land and water resources, crucial for its agricultural productivity. The state covers a total geographical area of approximately 88,752 square kilometers. A significant portion of this land, about 68.13%, is classified as rural.
West Bengal's agriculture sector is a cornerstone of its economy, employing a significant portion of the population and contributing substantially to the state's GDP. With approximately 62% of its total area under cultivation, agriculture remains vital. The state is renowned for its rice production, being one of India's largest producers.
Jute, often called the "Golden Fibre," is another major crop, essential to the textile industry. West Bengal also stands out as the second-largest producer of potatoes and is famous for its high-quality Darjeeling tea. Other key crops include wheat, maize, sugarcane, oilseeds (like mustard), pulses, vegetables, and a variety of fruits such as mangoes, bananas, pineapples, and litchis.
